EGGUN Ancestor Procession
The Eggun (ancestor) processionals are beautiful community rituals that honor the lives of enslaved persons who’s lives and burial sites are often forgotten. Each journey offers a healing balm to heavy hearts. We activate spaces with love and respect for those who endured a life of forced servitude. We gather to pray, sing, dance, wail, and shout as we hold the old souls in the highest regard. We fill these spaces filled with deep appreciation, joy beauty, and integrity.
